About Us

The Ottawa Institute for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (OICBB) is a network of researchers in Ottawa who develop bioinformatics or computational biology methods, or who employ these methods in their research. We are based at the University of Ottawa, Carleton University, the National Research Council of Canada, the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, and several other affiliated institutes. We come from a variety of disciplines, including computer science, mathematics, statistics, biology, biochemistry and medicine. We formed in 2009 to foster collaborative research, to promote our research at the national and international levels, and to guide the development of training opportunities in bioinformatics and computational biology in Ottawa.
